Titration Tips for New Patients by our Nursing Staff

Titration tips for new patients

Titration Tips: This article is for new patients who have had their initial phone consultation with our nursing staff, and have been advised to titrate. What is titration? High doses of nutrients are required to effect a change to your biochemistry. Titration is the process of starting slowly and working your way up to Mensah Medical’s prescribed therapeutic dosage of Advanced Nutrient Therapy. During titration you will gradually adjust up your dose of the compounded supplements until the optimal results are reached.  Understand that the titration tips written here are general guidelines, and some patients will need individualized titration instructions from the nurses that differ from these guidelines.

Titration Tips

Please note: In general, when we talk about titration we are referring to your AM compounded dose and your PM compounded dose from Village Green Apothecary. Basically, your titration schedule will increase by one capsule in the AM and one capsule in the PM each week until you’ve reached your scheduled program dosage. You will find out from Village Green Apothecary how many capsules you will have when your compounded supplements arrive.

Titration Tips for  Additional Recommended Supplements on your Prescription:

We may also recommend that patients should titrate the suggested supplements as well, such as GABA and inositol, for example. But often times additional recommended supplement doses are required at the maximum dose during titration in the initial stages of treatment. The effective titrated dosage is different for every patient. Some patients may require 1/3 of the dose for the recommended supplements, some two-thirds, and some will take the full dose of their recommended supplements.

General Titration Schedule

Week 1

Take one capsule of each AM and PM dose daily. For any other prescribed supplements call our nursing staff.

Week 2

Take two capsules of each AM and PM dose daily. For any other prescribed supplements call our nursing staff.

Week 3

Take three capsules of each AM dose and three capsules of the PM dose daily. (To avoid a lapse in supplements this is the time to order your 3 month supply. For fastest shipping results, order early in the work week. Processing time for supplements is anywhere from 7-10 days.)

Week 4

Take full AM and PM doses daily. For any other prescribed single supplements take the full amount of the prescribed dosage.

Please note, we generally will not be changing the compounded formula after the first month of treatment unless there is a serious issue.
